LOW
CARB STALLS
It's
to be expected that at some point during your low-carb lifestyle,
you will "stall." And stall is a period of time with no
weight or inch loss. A time when for no apparent reason, the diet
just seems to stop working.
Key
things to avoid during a stall:
- Sugar
Alcohols (maltitol, mannitol, glycerine)
- Processed
Foods
- Foods
containing nitrates (hot dogs, deli meats)
What
you should get more of during a stall:
- Water
- Exercise
- Fat
- Calories
Why
more fat and calories? Because fat keeps you satiated, and more
calories mean less hunger. A common problem with low-carbers is
that they start to decrease their food intake. Your body then goes
into survival mode, assuming you are fasting, and converts the food
you do eat into fat for future fasts.
