Meringue Pie Shell

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup Splenda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Combine Splenda and salt. Add a little at a time to egg whites while beating. Gently fold in almonds. Ease meringue into 9-inch pie plate. Bake for 1 hour, or until done. Cool before filling.

* Watch meringue closely. If it starts to puff too much, prick it as you would any other pie crust.
