Cracker
Barrel Old Country Store(R) Expands Menu With Daily Dinner Features
and Low-Carb Section
Changes include a new Spanish/English menu for Spanish speaking
guests
LEBANON, Tenn., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Many folks know all about the good country cooking at Cracker Barrel
Old Country Store(R). But guests will notice a whole new list of
favorites on the menu, because Cracker Barrel has daily dinner features
and a low-carbohydrate section in a re-designed menu now available
in all Cracker Barrel locations.
"Our
daily dinner features and low-carb offerings give our guests more
options when they're hungry for good country cooking," said
Cy Taylor, Senior Vice President of Operations. "Many of these
dishes are proven winners. Items like Broccoli Cheddar Chicken,
Turkey n' Dressing, and Butter Baked Chicken have done well for
us as seasonal promotions. We decided to make these seasonal favorites
available every week."
Available every night of the week, the daily dinner features will
include Homestyle Chicken (Sunday), Fried Pork Chops (Monday), Butter
Baked Chicken (Tuesday), Broccoli Cheddar Chicken (Wednesday), Turkey
n' Dressing (Thursday), Friday Fish Fry, and Chicken n' Rice (Saturday).
Each dinner includes two vegetables and is priced at $7.99.
Cracker Barrel is also introducing a "low carb" section
of the menu for those guests who are watching their carbohydrate
intake. "We've made it easy for folks counting carbs to still
enjoy good country cooking," said Mark Tanzer, Vice President
of Product Development. "We have twelve different meal selections
and four side items in the low-carb section of our lunch/dinner
menu. All of these main meals have less than ten net carbs. Our
breakfast menu options come with only three net carbs, and breakfast
is served all day."
Cracker Barrel is also making other changes to its breakfast and
lunch menu. Pancakes are prominently featured and daily lunch specials
include favorites like Baked Chicken n' Dressing, Chicken Pot Pie,
and Turkey n' Dressing. The menu looks a little different, but rest
assured that you will still find Cracker Barrel favorites being
served.
"Our guests have told us what they like, and we've kept their
favorites on the menu," said Taylor. "We're very excited
about these daily dinner specials and our low-carb selections. We
believe our guests will appreciate the additional selections as
well."
Cracker Barrel is also offering a Spanish/English version of this
new menu. The Spanish/English menu features the same items and helps
Spanish- speaking guests gain a better understanding of old fashioned
comfort foods. The Spanish/English menu is easily understood because
it places the English translation directly next to the Spanish text.
"This menu translates good country cooking from English to
Spanish," said Taylor. "The color-coded format enables
our servers to clearly understand what the guest is ordering. We've
found a way to overcome the language barrier and the bilingual communication
helps our servers deliver the food in a timely manner."
The new breakfast, lunch/dinner, and Spanish/English menus will
be available at every location of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
beginning May 17, 2004. The Spanish/English menu, as well as existing
Braille/large- print menu, is available upon request.
