DIETS

There are various diet options for those trying to shed weight. We've listed some of the most common ones, as well as some you may never had heard of. We rate each for its effectiveness.

Our "Egg Rating" system works like this:

= ineffective, not recommended.

= effective, recommended.

Atkins Diet RATING
High protein, low carbohydrate way of life.
Carbohydrate Addict's Diet (CAD) RATING
Low carb way of life with daily reward meal of carbs allowed within time limit.
Protein Power RATING
High Protein, low carb diet.
The Zone RATING
Balancing diet. 40-30-30 concept.
Somersizing RATING
Food combining. Carbs cannot be eaten with protein. Fruit must be eaten alone, etc.
Fit For Life RATING
Basically the same as Suzanne Somers' diet above, but it was around first.
Grapefruit Diet RATING
Eat a grapefruit with every meal.
Cabbage Soup Diet RATING
Spend a week eating only cabbage soup.
Slim Fast RATING
Shake for breakfast and lunch, balanced dinner.
The Beverly Hills Plan RATING
Eating fruit with every meal can help burn fat.
