With forums like this one, its nice to talk with people and share ideas and even share when we messed up and cheated! Friends to talk to. Friends that will listen. Did you start in February on SBD? Or is that when you started and joined this forum? Have you had good success with SBD so far? Would love to hear from you again. Hope its soon! Monica

Hi Noxzema, thank you! This seems like a really nice forum and I'm glad to be here. We all need support, and ideas, hints and recipes. Would love to share, and hope to hear from all on the SBD. Hello Chrissy! Sorry I didn't answer sooner. I work so much and sometimes takes me a while to get online again. Its august 10'th and your daughter and you should have gotten started yesturday?? It wasn't hard for me at all. This is the only diet i have ever been able to follow for this long and have lost this much. Actually it is a slow loss. 23 lbs in 7 months. BUT, i don;t mind at all! The slower the better , less likely to gain back. Right now I am again on a standstill. But , just like before. It will come. This is what I did. i made a copy of what was aloud in phase one and then what you can reintroduce back for phase 2. I also have a list of suggested breads and cereals , and added that list to the printouts. I then made a list of snacks. and attached that. Now, I only eat whats on those lists. I don't eat anything that is not. I usally eat about 5 or 6 meals a day. I am never hungry. I work all shifts 7 day stretches and different shifts in one workweek. So its very hard. I just keep "good" food, snacks for me to grab. I boil alot of eggs for hard boiled eggs along with my lite cheese. Good nuts. Celery and my natural PButter. Jello. Fruit for phase 2. Lite lunchmeat for lunches or I roll the lunchmeat and have it along with my lite cheese and egg.
I can go on and on. But the list would be too long!
Can anyone else add some hints and ideas for chrissy? The more the better and maybe there will be new ideas for myself also.
The one thing I have found is that you have to eat a variety. Not the same things day after day. So new ideas are welcome!!!
Hang in there chrissy! Its only 2 weeks for phase one. And I made a committment when I started on phase one, that I CAN DO THIS AND MAKE IT THROUGH 2 WEEKS!! I did, and lost the first 8 lbs. Then phase 2 is alot easier.
Let us know how your doing!!
Remember , ONE DAY AT A TIME!!
Monica

Being prepared for any event is VERY important.
Monica, to answer your question, I started the low-carb lifestyle on February 2, 2004. From all the low-carb diets out there, I think I follow the SBD more. I basically just eat anything that is low-carb and try never to go over 30 carbs a day. Potatoes is no longer in my dictionary.
There are days that I may only have about 15. It really just depends on how I feel that day or how hungry I am. I try not to put any pressure on myself but I think what has helped me through this is setting LOTS of mini goals for myself. I now weigh 162 pounds and I have lost a total of 65 pounds since I started. I still want to lose another 20 and I'm giving myself until the end of this year to do that. I don't want to lose these last few pounds too quickly so that it doesn't come on too quickly if I mess up or anything. I have thrown out ALL my fat clothes and am fitting into a woman's size 10. My goal is a size 8!
