Was just reading the back of a coffee creamer.......ingredients near the top of the list included corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup........so how can the nutritional label state "sugar - 0 grams"? I was under the impression that these two ingrendients were no-no's. Posts: 235 | From: Long Island, NY | Registered: May 2004

On a nutritional label, the word "sugar" only relates to real sugar. Though corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup are types of sugars, they're not the same as table sugar or natural sugar, so they're ignored in the sugar count.
You've done well by reading the indgredients! Never rely on the labels, because products are commonly mislabeled.
High fructose corn syrup is almost worse than table sugar when it comes to glucose levels and insulin response.
