Hi everyone - I am new to the south beach diet. I have been on it since the first of January. I started out @ 144lbs and am down to 137lbs. I haven't moved for almost a week now - what can I do?????

What are you trying to get down to? Are you in - Phase 1, 2 or 3? Think about what you ate when you started and what you are eating now........changes in water consumption, changes in exercise.....

I have just entered phase 2 - 2 days into it. But I have been introducing very little carbs, I had one Strawberry yesterday. Maybe I need to exercise? Then I think I will never know how much I lost because of the muscle I will gain? I would like to get to 128lbs.

You should have been exercising all along....shame on you! Exercise doesn't have to be to build muscle........you need to do cardio, get your heart rate up.
People who have very little to lose, such as you, will lose much slower than people who have a lot to lose.

Exercise it is then! I have one more question....What kind of yogurt can I have - I am reading in the book and it says, "sugar free - fat free yogurt" I cannot find a yogurt that has both. And practically all of them have sugars in them????? I found one that said made with splenda - but it still has 5 grams of sugar? Is this alright?

I have the same problem finding a yogurt that meets the description in the book also. I've pretty much given up for now at least. I plan on continuing to look though and will post a note when I find something. I occassionally have the lowfat vanilla with some homemade granola.
As for sugar counts, plese remember that lactose, a milk sugar, is in yogurt and is acceptable in moderation.

My apologies, I edited the post to reflect the correct url. I guess I must've been flipping back and forth too fast and copied the wrong one. Posts: 14 | From: Plano, TX | Registered: Jan 2005

what kind of exercise will get our heart rate up? will jogging be advisable? isnt it dangerous to exercise when youre getting very little carbs? well, i'm just curious.

No, it's not dangerous to jog while on a low carb diet.........you don't have to jog either, a walk at a good pace is sufficient..just enough so that you can still carry on a conversation with someone (or sing along to an ipod or such).....you have so much energy once you start getting into low carb.
