I was told that the Atkins diet was good. I'm not sure which diet would be better, I need to do something. I was told that if I want quick results, to do the Atkins diet...What should I do?

I did Atkins when it first came out.....didn't do anything for me.......South Beach is easier and I have had results. Please go to both websites, read through the postings and articles on this website, go to the library and get copies of both books.

My opinion leans more to South Beach than Atkins.....SB seems more sensible with the choices. Atkins bothers me with the high fat content.....do some research but please read the books. It's the best way to help you decide and definitely talk to your doctor.

Although I follow Atkins, I agree with DubhBas's sound advice. I think that the popularity of the South Beach diet is due to it's flexibility. I would, however, disagree with the Atkins and high fat statement. He does not prohibit fat it is true, but neither does he tell you to eat all the fat that you can find either.

Hello My DR. recommended South Beach for me,he also follows it with good results.
I have been on it a week now on phase 1 which is for 2 weeks-not to hard to follow.
This week I lost 6 1/2 pounds I know this is usual in begining.Good Luck!

I have been on Atkins for 4 years. I find it to be quite flexible and I make very healthy choices. My results were not quick at all. I have yet to reach my goal weight but I have achieved optimal health. It is the lifestyle for me.
