I've been on it since the end of June and have lost 25 pounds. I'm enjoying this way of life and look forward to seeing even more results. How's the Beach treating YOU?

Hello, I have been the The South Beach Diet since Sept, and have lost about 20 lbs. I still have 20 more to go, and my goal this year is to lose the 20.I am looking for anyone who is on South Beach and has recipes to share, or what you do on South Beach. A few of my co-workers are also Beaching it, and are losing the weight. Posts: 1 | Registered: Jan 2004

Hi there. I'm new to this site, but it looks interesting. Is the forum not too active? I see nobody replied to your post.
I tried beaching it a while back and lost an initial 8 pounds, then stopped losing at all. This of course led to a lack of commitment. But I would like to try again, and this is my first day back. If you are still around let me know.

I am on the South Beach "Lifestyle"! I have lost 21 pounds since January. I have not really lost anything in the past month...LOL...but I have not gained either! I have been just maintaining. we loeave on a two week cruise vacation June 4 and I thought that after losing it would be a good thing to stop the weight loss and get my body use to being at a certain weight......this way I think I will not be so prone to putting back on weight......I will continue to not eat bread and pasta...which I do not miss.....my downfall is desserts! I plan on eating those. I have reintroduced some into my "lifestyle"...thus I am not in the losing phase....but I need to do this to have fun on the cruise.....I plan on exercising daily and still watching the majority of my food intake. Whe I get home I hope to have no weight gain then I will lose the additional 5 pounds ....I have a total weight loss goal of 25 lbs.......

I started with the SBD a week ago. Unfortunately I didn't have time to pick up any of the books to read and only went by a friend's verbal explanation.
Now I have all three books and I'm starting again. I wasn't too far off with what I was doing and have noticed a difference in my appetite. No "hunger pangs" or feeling tired in the middle of the afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed. Posts: 235 | From: Long Island, NY | Registered: May 2004

Don't worry, Loisjo. We all have our weak moments and we all know how easy it is to just settle back into the bad eating habits. We also know that we were miserable then, too.
I, like you, love peanuts. I've found a great substitute in English Walnuts. They have 0 carbs. Sometimes I eat them right outta the bag, other times I fill the bottom of a round cake pan with them, add enough butter to moisten, then sprinkle them with splenda. Then just pop em in the oven (about 300 degrees). I'm not sure how long you leave them, but I continuously check mine (by eating a few of them ) until they are nice and toasted. (You may need to turn on the broiler to get them the way you like them. Just experiment. )
Or you may be able to satisfy your craving by eating some low-carb peanut butter. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. It's really good. Tastes just like regular old peanut butter to me. Crush some English Walnuts and throw them in!
Give these ideas a try. Maybe one will work for you! But if you feel like you may be needing some verbal support and encouragement, I am more than happy to do that for you. I will private message you about it.
Stay strong! Angie

Angie, I am sorry I did not see your reply on the board before I e-mailed you. thanks for the substitute to the peanuts. Before I saw your answer I had just eaten a spoon of peanut butter. I will try the English Walnuts as soon as I can get them.
