Hello everyone. I am new to low-carbing. I have been doing Atkins for five days and have been having a really hard time not eating bread or sugar. I think I've been really addicted to carbs for a long time. I feel like I'm withdrawing or something?! I don't feel like I can do this long term if this is how I'm going to feel. Did anyone else have physical discomfort when they first started? Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Thanks!reallyPosts: 4 | From: Sacramento, CA | Registered: Apr 2002

I think most people go threw that. Just hang in there it does get easier. There is an Atkins bread mix but I never have tried it. My major problem is Pasta and Rice I miss it a lot. But you real to find replacements after a while. When you start losing it well all be worth it.
I get very tired, weak, and irritable the first few days. But once I get over the cravings, I don't miss any of the old stuff anymore. In fact, some people brought in their easter leftovers to work last Monday and I wasn't even tempted. And there were lots of desserts and stuff. It may seem difficult right now, but believe me... you will soon hit a point where you no longer miss those bad things and you'll feel much better! I was a pasta addict...every single meal revolved around it. But now I have no interest!

I just posted this to someone els having the same problem as you.
quote:I agree if meat fat makes you feel ill try to get your fat from olive oils, avacados, cheese and butter. I did feel ill for about 2 weeks when I first started this WOL. I knew it was the withdrawls my body had to go through to get all the toxic chemicals out of my system and I endured it. I'm glad I did and if I had to do it again I would. I never want to eat the way I did before I found this WOL. Thank goodness I don't have to anymore.
