Hi Everybody!

I, too, am new here and I'm on week 2 of a low carb diet (doing about 50-80 g a day). I lost 7 lbs last week and last year I lost 43 lbs in just 2 months! I am loosly following Atkins, but my doc doesn't want me following it with that low carb count. I am diabetic, (oral meds) so I don't understand, but I'm guessing he knows more than me. I am losing and feeling better, so there's good in it anyway! I have quite a way to go as my current weight as of 1/25 was 336 and my goal weight is 150, so I'll be here for quite a while! Anybody who would like to chat, we could make up a chat schedule! Anyhow, have a great day and hope to chat with y'all soon!

Oh, I almost forgot...thanks to whomever submitted that recipe for "mock danish"...I can't remember who did, but it's AWESOME! Even my sugar loving husband loved it!

Hello All!!..
Meddie and Jacksyn I think your menu's look great.. Here's mine from yesterday

Breakfast:

2 eggs (fried in pam cooking spray)
3 sausage patties

Lunch:

1 small can of tuna w/ 1 Tbsp mayo
13 pork rinds

Snack:

4 ounces cheese curds

Supper:

2 medium boneless/skinless chicken breasts fried in 3 Tbsp butter w/parsley

I also had 3 cups of coffee.. YIKES..

I know I lacked the veggies yesterday, but I wanted to keep my carbs down, so for supper i opted for the chicken instead of salad..

I am on my 7th day of induction.. ONE WEEK in.. LOL.. My ketostix are becoming lighter and lighter colored.. I am STILL in ketosis.. but just not as much??
I supose its the coffee that might be doing it.. I guess I'll try switching to half and half (half reg/half decaf).. maybe that will be enough!..

I still haven't noticed anything on the scale.. but getting over my TOM.. soooo who's to say there hasn't been a change yet. I STILL haven't measured myself yet.. at first I couldn't bring myself to do it.. (ignorance is bliss, right??) but then when i finally decided .. i couldn't find my measurer!!.. eeks.. I'll have to buy one the next time I am out.

And hello to you Mazda.. nice seeing you here too.. we've run into eachother at Atkinsfriends right?? There are soo many boards out there.. with so much information, i find myself sittin in front of this computer taking it in more and more. And that kind of defeats the purpose right?? LOL

Marina,

I'd venture to guess the caffeine in your coffee is ruining things for you... caffeine stimulates insulin production. Eeek!
Try to ween yourself off of it... and be careful...some half-n-half has a lot of carbs. What are you using as sweetener (if any?) Nutrasweet can also interfere in weight loss, as can MSG in foods.

How much water are you drinking per day? The more the better.

I am using Splenda sweetener.. 1 per cup of coffee..
and I have CoffeeMate creamer and dried powder..
I guess I will start trying to do the coffee with half reg and half decaf..
Question~.. do you know exactly what the differnt numbers mean on the ketostix??
5.. 15 etc.. I was at moderate Ketosis for 2 days.. and now I am down to trace.. *cringing*..

Day two coming to a close. Drinking plenty of water and watching the carb intake. I'm having some tummy troubles and I'm feeling very tired. The sugars are burning off and this is the hardest part for me. I'm addicted to sugars and I'm craving them something awful. I'll be posting more tomorrow on weight and measurements (check in the weights and measurement section!) as well as if I actually turn the Ketone strips pretty colors. Later!
