I want to get down to 140.. not something I thought would ever be possible.. until I started to read some of your success stories. I'm buckling down.. and ready for this Low Carb Ride!.. I REALLY could use someone to talk to EVERYDAY.. whether its here.. or on a instant messanger.. chat.. etc. I look forward to starting a life~long friendship, sharing goals, recipes, and success!!.. I'm a work from home Mom/Wife. And could use some companionship with someone else who is Low Carbing.. Thanks!..

Good morning Marina and Pennyless!!
What do you say we get our "challenge" started Monday morning? Today, my beloved Patriots are playing, and although I'm making alot of legal treats, I can't guarantee anything! Hopefully, we can swap tips, recipes, and exercise plans to keep us on track. I always do better when there's someone to report to. I'll email you both.

Hello Pennyless and Meddie..
How great we can all work together on this!! I am looking forward to it! I have SOME good news, I bought some ketostix yesterday and saw that I am in "moderate" ketosis. I haven't shed a pound, but realize its too early. I was so excited to actually SEE that what I have been doing was working!.. I'll be soo happy when I can post a pound lost.. !!..
Happy No Carbing to you both.. and keep us posted.. I want to enjoy your success as well as my own!!.. *hugs*

I can see we are all early risers! Have been up and read the morning paper and try to grab a few minutes on the computer before the kids take over! I started induction on 12/29 and have been cheat free. I have lost a total of 12 pounds which is saying a lot for me. I am trying to exercise at least 6 times a week on my treadmill. I am up to 3 miles and walking at a pace of a little under 16 minutes per mile. Look forward to getting to know both of you and helping all of us keep on track.

Don't forget you guys can meet in the chat room and talk live too! I posted a new one yesterday which runs well. Since everyone seems to get up bright and early, you should probably schedule some time to pop in there and say hello!

I'm in there now....

Hello everyone. Today is my first day posting on the boards. I have completed my first week and have luckily been in ketosis the past three days. I think the biggest change this time around, yup i've done this before, is that i cut out the diet soda. Everyone is differnt but for me this was a big difference. Im looking forward to giving all of you all the support that I can so we can ALL BE SUCCESSFUL!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO

OK, here goes with my menu for today:

b - 2 scrambled eggs w/turkey bacon (2)
coffee with 1/2 & 1/2
l - scoop chix salad with sm. garden salad
s - 6 buffalo wings
d - grilled pork chop, gr. beans, zuc &
summer squash
s - if needed - s.f. jello or macadamia
nuts

It looks ok (except I know I need to switch to decaf), but I think I'll go to fitday and try out that site. So.....what's everyone else eating today?

Hey everyone!!! Hey Marina nice to see you over here too. Well I would love some help and encouragement too, as well as would love to help push all of you all to your success. So count me in!

My menu to day:
b - 2 eggs scrambles with cheese and turkey sausage
s - i'm a teacher, didn't get one today
l - romaine lettuce salad with tuna, cucumbers and ranch dressing (light on the veggies, don't want to overdo it on carbs)

That's it so far...

P.S. Let me know about the chat session, I'm up early too...

Hello all I would like to join all of you. I was doing real well and stopped losing, I am losing inches but not pounds. I think I was going over, not much, my 20 carbs. I wasn't watch as close as I should so I tighten up and I am back on track. I love making new friends so please Email me if you would like we can trade goals and anything to help each other.

Hi again! I just got done with work, dinner, and the boys.... for the moment. I hate being on the pacific coast because nobody is probably here now... my menu for today....
3/4 of a doctors bar with 16.9 oz of water..(I found that the bars aren't as low carb as I thought! They contain gycerine and some people are sensitive to it.)
handfull of almonds.... no salt
Lunch - ham steak cut up into chucks with 2 string cheeses. Oh and 2 16.9 oz water...
Dinner - 2 small hamburgers with cheese and 2 more bottles of water.... italian soda made with devici (sp) syrup and selzer water with tsp of whipping cream (yummy)
Um... do I have to mention the 3 pieces of low carb carmels that will punish me terribly later.... (manitol) plus more water....and more water.. total water for today so far is (6) 16.9 oz bottes! And no diet pop!

Hi everyone. I am from TX and I have just started on the low carb as well. I, too, need encouragement. I was successful on e-diets last year but gained back because I was losing from stravation and I could not take it any longer. I am afraid I eat more than most of you on the low carb but I have lost three pounds since Wednesday. My Ketostyx show me in the just above nothing range. Oh well, I am determined. I am going on vacation in March and must get in a swimsuit. My friend and her husband are going and she is a size 6. Happy for her, though. I do not want to think of this as a diet--I am addicted to carbs and just a small amount can send me on a binge.
