I have been on what I call a Low Carb diet for almost 2 weeks. By low carb I mean 20-25 carbs a day, And I dont sub a ton of fatty foods to compensate. about 950 total cal a day.I walk a lease a mile a day. What kind of results should I expect. I have only lost 2LBS best I can Tell but that could even be just normal weight veriation.

Can someone help I am getting Very Discouraged

I can only say that I've heard that Low carb/low fat diets aren't as effective. Have you any reading material that brought this diet on?

Hi
Atkins says that in order for the body to use the fat you have stored you have to provide it with fat. IMO-That doesn't mean that you need to eat fatty fried meats and unhealthy fats. You would probably benefit from eating 3-4 Tbsp. of healthy fats a day (olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, real mayonaise etc) not only because it increases fat burning in your body, but also because it would add approx 400 cals to your diet, which signals your body that you are not starving, so it will want to burn fat faster (especially if you are exercising). Fats also keep your body healthy in a lot of ways. Just stay away from trans fats if you can, and try to get your oils cold pressed. [Smile]
