HI,
I'm starting the Atkins Diet on Monday, and I just got off the infomous cabbage Soup diet. I am really confused and I have a couple of question si need answered:
1. Is exercise required during INduction?
2. Am I going to gain weight eating all that fat?
3. Did you guys follow the 14 day meal plan exactly or do you have any suggestions on how I can follow the meal plan but making some changes. If I make changes to the meal plan do i have to give them the same nutritional value?(fat, carbs etc.)
tanks soo much!

Atkins is not simply a diet rather it is a way of life.

1. Exercise is highly recommended during all phases of ANA. But this doesn't mean that you have to join a gym or take up jogging. If like me you hardly do any activity, little things like adding a bit of walking and gradually increasing the variety and how much you do can really have an impact.
2. One of the basic principles behind Atkins is that eating fat does not make you fat, eating carbohydrates is what makes you fat.
3. I only had New Diet Revolution book when I started ANA and that doesn't contain the meal plan you refer to. You can treat it as a guide, but the main thing is to limit your carbs to 20g per day and most of those should come from fresh vegies.

If you read the book, you will know what changes you can make to the meal plans. Also it explains the importance of fats to the diet.
Good Luck!
