Hello,
I am new to this forum but now new to low carb eating. I lost about 20 pounds a few years ago with a moderate low-fat diet. Then I went on the Atkins diet 4 months ago and lost about 14 more pounds. I have about 10 or 15 more to lose.
I only weigh myself once a week and last week I noticed a gain of 2 pounds. So I went on a strict induction style diet with only meat, eggs, fish, chicken and a green salad but no eggs or nuts or berries etc.
This week my weight had not budged which surprised me. I am quite patient with slow loss but I do get nervous about weight gain.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
JC

Hi JC
It was your post that made me want to join as I wanted to reply.
I had the same problem when I first started years ago. Since then I've understood that when we strat to lose weight in the first few weeks we become more active without realising it. This generally mans that we start to use our muscles more and these build up.

As muscle weight much more than fat we may not notice any weight gain. But just a thought. Have you noticed any loss of inches. Is the waistband feeling a little looser, fitting better etc?

For me, I now go on inches rather than pounds.

Hope that helps a bit
SweetE

Try adding a bit of fat to your diet. It may help.

I agree with karrie. Make sure you keep on the healthy fats - my posts all sound fat obsesed, but after a low fat diet, I know it is hard to remember that fats are a neccesity. Even using olive oil on salad and a mayo dip with fish can help. Good Luck!
