Sugar alcohols are not allowed during induction..they are not on the Induction list!

Believe me...the plan is much easier to do without them..they cause stalls, cravings, and blood sugar spikes.

My advice is to stay as far away from sugar alcohols as humanly possible.

There are so many legal recipes for treats...no need to have sugar alcohols

Hi there!
I agree! Sugar alcohols wreak havok! In my experience, not only do I get stomach sick from them, I get intense sugar cravings after consuming them (enough to push me off the wagon for a week). I have to agree that natural is better....but do any other seasoned Atkins dieters notice that sooooo many people are trying to do induction with major amounts of aspartame drinks and sugar free "junk"? Hey - just because it is there, doesn't mean it is appropriate to eat (or good for you!). Of course it does put money into the manufactures pocket. So MO is STAY NATURAL! Bet you notice a difference!

I couldn't agree more. Steer away from maltitol. I gain weight if I start eating it... perhaps because my body is sensitive to sugar alcohols and seems to treat them as real sugar. And of course the intestinal effect isn't worth the few minutes of taste pleasure. I completely eliminated maltitol and fake candy from my lifestyle.
