Being an avid follower of the Atkins Diet, I would like to know what the net carb calculation is.i.e. does net carb = Total carb - polydextrose - maltitol - Glycerol. In the UK for all UK packaging, I am told that you need not worry about this as the total carb value for a product is what your net carb value is! However some carb control packaged products list the good and bad carbs. So is maltitol good or bad, is glyceol good or bad. So can someone please tell me how are they named/grouped, thank you!

Take the Total Carbs and subtract any Dietary Fiber and Sugar Alcohols listed. That gives you the Net Carbs.

Malitol and other Sugar Alcohols are bad....they impact the blood sugar.
