I leave the macadamia nuts in my car since I figure I'll eat them all if I bring them in the house but I still eat an awful lot of them when I'm driving (plus Diet Rite) but still the ketostix are turning purple; I don't get it.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're in a stall. Otherwise, sounds like the macs aren't bothering your diet. If you stop losing, even with purple ketostix, cut out the nuts and see if it helps.

Ernie, the nutrition information on the back of my "macs" lists 4g carbs/3g fiber per 1/4 cup. According to Dr. Atkins and also Dr. Eades (PP) since the fiber doesn't affect insulin (actually slows absorption of carbs) it's deducted from the total carb count, that leaves only 1g, so, except for the salt in most of them, you don't need to worry about them.
