a. how many servings of maltitol sweetened chocolate (in oz.) should warrant stalled weight loss?

b. is there any difference between maltitol and other polyols like sorbitol in regards to bloating and stalled weight loss?

No 2 people are alike. Some can have almost unlimited amounts with no affect, some can be affected by a single snack.

In all aspects, it's an individual thing. Personally I try to keep the funky foods to a minimum, maybe once a week.

Too much of any sugar alcohol can cause a stall.

For some..any sort of sugar alcohol can kick them out of ketosis.

And for many...the first few months of eating sugar alcohols..dont cause stalls..then out of the blue it does.

Sugar Alcohols can also cause major stomach distress

Maltitol is super evil. The one sugar alcohol which does not cause me any problems and is 0 on the glycemic index is Erythritol. It is found in such things as Z Carb Bars and Lowcarb Hershey Bars.

I find the problem now..with Atkins Nutritionals is they promote this junk...and then it stalls some people..and then they go away thinking that LCing just does not work for them..then they bash the plan.

Dr. Atkins wanted this diet to be whole and pure..that is why I would always suggest reading the book Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution..instead of the ones that have came out after his death.

Although they are good reads (I own them all)...they promote the Junk Food.
