Obviously we're all stabbing in the dark here. But from the looks of the short synopsis that you gave, it looks like you're eating way less than 20 carbs per day. You might try adding in a salad or some other healthy carb food such as nuts. It might be possible that your body is in deprivation mode. Of course drinking plenty of water is key as always. Otherwise there is nothing to flush out the system as it were.

I've been on Atkins for 3 weeks and 2 days and have not only not lost any weight but gained a pound. I'm trying to lose 10 maybe 15 pounds if I can. Strict adherence to the diet for the first two weeks. get carbs from veggies and some snax. What is wrong with Maltitol??? My husband is on the same diet as me and he is losing weight, visibly losing weight. I'm very disappointed. I'm going to give it two more weeks. Is this reasonable? I've been in Ketosis since nearly the beginning and I exercise at least 4 times per week, including kickboxing, cycle rebook, step class, other cardio and weight lifting...

Nothing is "wrong" with you so stop thinking that way. Your husband is your husband, he's not you.....you have different bodies, different blood chemistrys, different metabolisms, different gender..........maltitol affects blood sugar which is a no no on low carb......forget about ketosis, it means nothing but hype..there have been people in ketosis who lose nothing and people who never go into ketosis who lose tons.....you're trying to lose weight - wonderful - but all the exercise you are doing is building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat....no wonder the scale is going up......calm down and stick with cardio for a while and ease off the weightlifting and other things......half an hour, four times a week is a good place to start.....see how it works for a couple of days and then start adjusting. And by the way, you're trying to lose such a little amount and it's always much harder to do that instead of a larger amount, say 50 pounds.

I am on this forum right now because I am going through this same "no results" thing with my wife...she has been following a sort of "generic low carb" diet for about 3 weeks, and hasn't lost an ounce. Hasn't gained an ounce either, so I guess she's pretty much on the equivalent of "stage 4 atkins". Problem is, if you're trying to lose weight...I can guarantee you all of you who aren't losing weight, you are NOT FOLLOWING THE INDUCTION INSTRUCTIONS! It is that simple. You can get all this info in 5 minutes for free at Atkins.com! Read it, print it out, and pretend it's the bible and you're a bible-thumper...in other words, follow it to the T! AS they say very clearly in The Rules of Induction, "This phase of the Atkins Nutritional Approach must be followed precisely to achieve success. If you do it at all incorrectly you may prevent weight loss and end up saying, "Here is another weight-loss plan that didn't work."

start here: http://atkins.com/howto/phase1.html

But this time, print it all out and read it all!

i started atkins/low carbing july 2005 and a year later i was at my goal. my high weight was 304 in 1990, i got down to 200 and remained there comfortably for 15 years, married, was a happy fatty, then i had a hysteromy and had to take hormones, my weight went from 200 to 225 in 6 weeks, i told my dr i wanted off the hormones and he said no, i said YES.. and i went off of them started atkins, i was 49 years old, and i was going to make a difference before i hit 50 and now i weight 135 and a size 6-8.... that is about 164 total pounds and 90 doing atkins/low carbing my way.. i will try to see if i can put photo in here.. any way... about eating and shift work.. it is hard. i never know when to eat, i can not eat in the middle of the night, or at 9am before i go to bed, but i wake up around noon and starving, run to the frig where i always have sugar free jello and boiled eggs and meats and cheeses availabe, usually a boiled egg supresses me and i am back to sleep, weird hun? but at least i was not sticking a cinnimon muffing in my mouth...

i can relate, 9am is bed time for me also. so my eating schedule is now worth even trying because i work two 3-11 shifts and three midnight shift, working midnight i do not eat at all, I try but i just can not do it. I have lost my 164 pounds and have maintained for 8 months, I still have not introducted fruits back into my life and probably never will, I tried twice with a gain and a darn hard core cravings, I basically eat induction foods on maintience and stay under 50-60 carbs (FOR ME to maintaine) right now my schedule is so waked out, i am just gratful i have not gained, i can tell i am retaining water, i am tired from not getting proper rest, i walke about 3-4 miles 3-4 times a week.. it will all work out for me and you too. just hang in there. do the water too, I just love the floavored waters, i can drink them all day long and love them.

i am new to this forum, but not new to low carb forums, i am addicted to them, all of them, and that is what keeps me from eating, i am always here while i am at work, typing all night long waiting for the phone to ring for a call and it never rings on some nights

Are you eating enough calories?? I went through a stall when my caloric intake was down around 900 and my carbs were under 20. I start losing again when I began to consume a few more calories.. so now I try hard to keep calories up around 1200 and keep the carbs under 20. Be careful with salty foods.. bacon, jerky... as that might be hindering your loss. And also, make sure you drink lots and lots of water.. Most of your carbs should come from veggies too.

Hope this helps,
Kitt

Atkins is working for me but I am having to stay real strick with keeping the carbs at 20-25 aday.
Are you watching for hidden carbs? you may be getting some and not knowing it.
Lunch meats and hot dogs are high in hidden carbs.
Let me know how you are doing and if you need any help I am here for you.
