Been on the diet a little over a week; bought some ketostix yesterday and saw a beautiful shade of purple last night. Just so happy I felt I had to share it!

Ernie, so happy to hear about your ketosis. My sticks have only turned a mild pink.I can't wait to see dark purple. Did you do anything different than before to get a dark color. Flower

I think the main difference this time was the first time I drank a lot of diet colas(Nutra-Sweet & caffeine), this time I'm drinking more water and Diet Rite). The only concerns I have is I'm on the road a lot, don't have the time to eat at restaurnts or cafeterias so that leaves fast food. Lately all I've had is salads at McDonalds and chicken at Hardees; I could eat the burgers without ketchup and bread but the "meat" has no real taste versus the hamburger I would throw in the skillet at home; I guess fast food burgers depend on the topppings and bun for their taste?! Anyway, I'm still happy and determined!!!

Remember that it does not matter how dark your ketostix turn. If your in ketosis.. you are in. The darker purple.. tends to show that you are not hydrated enough.. hence the darker color. Rest assured, any color pink means you are doing it right!.. Good job!

Earnie, Have you ever thought of going to the grocery store, when you are out on the road, and getting meat and cheese sliced from the deli? They also have rotisery (spelled wrong) chicken that you can buy. Lots of times they even have green beans in the deli. Anyway, I saw your post and just thought I'd mention this. It is hard to come up with ideas on the road. I also like to eat at barbecue places...can get the meat and tell them to cut the sauce. Pretty good. Also, sometimes I will stop in a diner and get an omelette.
