Can i substitute low carb bread and low carb icecream, etc, instead of eating veggies during induction and still lose the same amount of weight as long as i stay at 20 carbs? I know i won't receive the nutritional benefits but i have in all honesty never been able to stomach alot of vegetables. I would rather be able to have half a peanut butter sandwich and a little ice cream. I would eat one serving of a vegetable a day. I can take a vitamin supplement.

I would suggest NOT substituting these items during induction because:

1. Low Carb Ice Creams contain sugar alcohols which are known to stall your weight loss or even cause weight gain.

2. Low Carb Breads usually contain some wheat and/or unbleached flour which can slow you down and create cravings.

During induction, I suggest staying completely natural. No fake foods while your body is adjusting to this new regime. If you don't like veggies, then you can always avoid them (as long as you take vitamins and minerals to supplement.)

I am not a big veggie fan and usually don't have anything but zucchini or spinach. At least I'm getting great nutrients in the raw spinach.

I also take "veggie complete" and "fruit complete" by Sunny Green. They are basically extracts from the actual plants which are then dehydrated into capsule form. You're getting pure nutrients from them!!

Most local health food stores can order them for you. Mine did for $12.50 per bottle. Each bottle is a month's supply. I was amazed how much increased energy I got when I started taking them. They're especially important because we must severely restrict fruit consumption. Now I get multiple fruits with only 1g carbs!

I also found them on Amazon.com for only $10.39 per bottle!!!

These are pretty much the same thing as Juice+ (JuicePLUS) products, at a FRACTION of the cost. Juice+ costs around $40.00 per bottle and doesn't have as many fruits in it. I was really happy when I found the Sunny Green version because there was no way I could afford to buy the other stuff.

Fruit Complete Ingredients:

Apple, Orange, Pineapple, Cranberry, Blueberry, Grapefruit, Elderberry, Peach, Apricot, Plum, Cherry, Papaya, Apple Pectin, Citrus Pectin, Date, Prune, Glucomannan, Citrus Bioflavonoid, Grape Seed Extract, Grape Skin Extract, Green tea Extract, Dunaliella Salina, Natural Vitamin E, Bromelain, Papain, Amylase, Cellulase, Lactase, Lipase, Protease, Maltase, Sucrase.
CARBS: 1g per 2 capsules.

Veggie Complete Ingredients:

Carrot, Parsley, Beet, Kale, Broccoli, Cabbage, Spinach, Tomato, Yellow Squash, Cauliflower, Red Pepper, Sweet Potato, Beet Fiber, Barley Bran, Oat Bran, Cabbage Fiber, Glucomannan, Grape Seed Extract, Grape Skin Extract, Garlic, Green Tea Extract, Dunaliella Salina, Natural Vitamin E, Amylase, Cellulase, Lactase, Lipase, Protease, Maltase, Sucrase.
Less than 1g carbs per 2 capsules.

Don't be concerned with the following:
sucrase, lactase, maltase. These are not sugars. If they were sucrose, lactose, or maltose they would be. The "ase" lets you know that these are actually the enzymes that break down those corresponding sugars.

Hope this helps everyone continue to get their healthful fruits and vegetables while low-carbing.
