I plan on starting a low carb diet tommorw. I have puchased Atkins shakes for breakfast but I am not sure what I can take to work with me for lunch. I am ready to go grocery shopping but not sure what to buy. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I take vegatables that I have already cooked and salads with salmon or tuna and string cheese sticks. I also take an Atkins bar with me and cut it in half to avoid getting too hungry and have half before lunch and the other half a couple hours before I go home.
Best of Luck,
Dia

Wayne, if you have access to a microwave at work, and can pack an insulated lunch bag or box to carry the stuff, pack things like a frozen fish fillet and chopped greens with butter--the frozen fish will be thawed to cooking temp by lunchtime; instant hot meal!

If you don't have access to a microwave, remember that you can chop up pretty much any protein with any types of veggies, add some mayo and greens and have a salad. As fresh veggies come into the markets more, stuff the chopped protein du jour into bell peppers, tomatoes, etc.

Hope this helps! Welcome in!
