Hello! I am new to all this. I am on day three and I crave everything that I am not supposed to eat. I have managed to keep from eating them though. Will these cravings last the whole two weeks? I have stopped smoking and drinking in the last two years and I know I can do this. I am 36 and my metabolism has changed. I was becoming lazy and having all kinds of pains like arthritis. I used to be able to eat anything, but now I am steadily gaining wait and it seems as though my eating habits are getting worse. It really helped to read all the forums and I am looking forward to being healthy. I am already feeling better,I just hate these cravings. I feel like I am constantly eating these foods they suggests for the first two weeks, is that alright?

Deane--it's important to eat enough (proteins and fats) and to drink plenty of water. If you're drinking caffeine, or diet soda, or using a lot of sugar substitutes, they can all make your cravings worse. Basically, for the first week or so until your body accepts the idea that you're not feeding it straight sugar carbs any more, it will fight back--with fatigues, headaches, cravings, etc. Eat lean proteins, good fats (nuts and nut butters can help a lot) and drink lots of water, and you'll be over the major part of cravings in a week or so. And most important--DO NOT LET YOURSELF GET HUNGRY during this period where your body is adjusting...or you'll give in to the cravings. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice. I have actually been sticking to nothing but meats and cabbage, salad, celery, cucmbers, cheese, sour cream, salad dressing, and broccoli. I am drinking 6 bottles each 500ml of water a day and nothing else. I am constantly in the bathroom with that.Ha Is that enough? [Confused] You said nuts what kind can I eat and is it alright these first two weeks? I love pecans and cashews. I was better yesturday full of energy and not craving too much. Today is like blaw. I am craving again and tired. Thats ok though as long as it will end. If I am eating the right foods can I be eating too much of them? Can me exercising be causing me to be hungry?
