I have been on Atkins for 21 days, I had lost 11 pounds, then I got a bad cold and stopped drinking much water. My weight seemed to go back up.I have stayed on the diet and have not weighed in two days. Has anyone ever had this problem.

You are right if you don't drink your water you do tend to gain a little. Also there are many factors that will show a false gain. It depends on whether or not you are retaining water, or TOM.Of course ignore the last reason if you happen to be male, your name doesn't indicate what gender you are. Also you were probably off wack on your eating. I'm sure that if you get back on the wagon, you will continue to lose. Best of luck I've had my cold more then a month. Judy

Hi everyone.

Was hoping for some feedback. I had recently lost over 80lbs on ww, but hit a major plateau, and couldnt get past the munchies every 2-3 hours. I decided to do atkins and have been doing induction now for 2 weeks. I started at 141 and am now 138.5 - not much difference compared to most results I've heard/seen. I count my grams religiously -20/day. I only have my 3c salad or 2 c + 1c veggies. I have been staying away from atkins bars. My only bad thing is drinkind diet coke -but if I can help it drink caffeine free. I HAVE had russel stover low carb chocolates here and there..but count the carbs in my intake..and usually only 1.0 net carbs in 5 pieces. I FEEL thinner than number...but the number should be lower no? Also, when doing ketosis test..not dark at all?

HELP!!!???

Congratulations on your weight loss. Don't be too hard on yourself, I am another person who is a slow loser. With some of us we have to be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day. Some people are sensitive to sugar alcohols and it slows down their weight loss, and the Nutrisweet they have in diet soda's slow them down too. Make sure you drink your water, believe it or not, if you don't drink the water you won't lose as fast. Make sure you take your supplements. If you haven't read the book you should take the time to do so. I went from WW to Atkins also and it took me a month to get my energy back. I'm proud to say my cravings for starchy food has all but vanished. Stick with this and you will see a big difference. Measure yourself and you will notice even at the times you are not losing scale weight, you are still losing inches. Be sure to incorporate exercise. Let us know how this is working for you, Judy

Hello All, I am a newbie as well. I made the first step and found this great site. Now what? Any help would be much appreciated! Books, Menus etc.. I have never done a low carb-diet before and not real sure "how to". I do have a slight medical history of migraines so any type of "Chocolate" type bars, shakes, coffee etc.. are a huge NO for me. Thanks for your help!!
