Hi all *waving like a madwoman*

Here's a quote i thought I would share with you.. and some food (low carb of course) for thought!..

Eleanor Roosevelt once said..

"Learn from the mistakes of others.
You can't live long enough to make them all yourself."

And hence.. I am thankful for message boards such as these. This is my first doing this WOE and I have my first week in. I have read so many different stories, about people doing good for awhile, and then falling back.. quitting, sneaking treats.. planning cheats... etc.. And I've been able to educate myself.. just where that gets us..
NOWHERE. So here, I am learning by the mistakes of others.. and definately by the mistakes I've made.. myself.. with eating over the past 10 years. I think its the best thing now.. to have this medium.. in which I am able to learn from so many different people. I can sympathize with their pain, wallow in their grief, and cheer their well fought victories!
We have a connection with eachother.. from state to state.. and across the ocean.. for anyone who is overweight, knows the feeling. The insecurities, envy, jealousy, guilt and the self~pity. The need to justify or pacify every bad thing we put in our mouth.. always finding an excuse why its OK "this time." For me "this time" has added up to an extra 50 pounds on my body.. how about you??

*running like a mad-woman for more water*
LOL

I have to agree with Meddie...YOU GO GIRL! This is the hardest thing I will ever do - losing more than half my body weight - but it's worth it in the end. I want to live to see my grandchildren grow up, unlike my mother in law who died from kidney failure/congestive heart failure from years of abusing her body and not watching her sugar. She was insulin dependent and drinking full sugar soda. I have learned that life is too short to just say "next time" and that my body can and will only take so much. With that said, good luck to all, and even though I'm not on Atkins per se I sure do hope that I will benefit from this community and that I can give back as well!
