Found this article by Tom Venuto called "10 Atkins Lies". It's a good read, you may want to check it out. Here is the link:

Well Grandma's response was a bit confusing from my view. I read the article and was surprised at the fairmindedness of it. I expected an Atkins bashing. I liked how he evenly evaluated the pros and cons of the Atkins WOE. I can ask no more.

I always shake my head when I see statistics for how well the diets supposedly work. I firmly believe in Atkins because it allows one the opportunity for adjustment, especially in the lifetime maintenance phase. The statistics say that after a year it becomes boring and people fall off. Those people are obviously not taking an interest in their diet, but simply are buying a lot of the crap products on the market. I would venture to say that this is true of anything in life. If you plod along and do something minimal, you'll not get far.

Confusing, definitely. First thing I thought was that if you clicked on the link it opened a site where you could pick up a virus............
