I was wondering if anybody knows anything about tic-tacs, the small breath mint. I noticed that they do not show any carbs on the product information label however it does say that sugar is the main ingredent....I'm so confused....Can anybody clue me in? thanks..

Nailman, I don't know the tic-tac carb count off hand. However, even if the first ingredient is sugar, if the 'serving size" for the product has under 1g of carbs, then the manufacturer can list the carb count per serving as "zero."

So, if there's a serving size listed, stay under that. [Smile]
If there isn't, you might want to look at one of the sugar-free breath mints or the melt-in-your-mouth breath sheets that uses xylitol or sorbitol (a sugar alcohol)--or find a breath mint that lists its nutrient info.

OTOH, as long as you're not chugging the whole package every day--in other words, just having one or two a day--the carb amount is probably not going to derail you unless it makes you want more sweet stuff. For comparison, a single plain M&M is about 1g ECC...and by size alone, one M&M = two tic tacs.

Gaelen, Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. When I saw 0 carbs on the tic-tacs I got all excited because I love the orange flavored ones and they did take away my sugar urge....I think I'll slow down on them now...thanks again

I found a sugar free breath mint called Smint. It is sweetened with xylitol and asparthame. It is made by Chupa Chups. www.smint.com
It lists the carbs as 2 per serving, but that is counting the sugar alcohol. These have NO sugar as far as I can tell.

Each little tic tac has what they say less than .5 carbs per serving. Figure they round up, so .3 carbs per little tic tac.
