I did the plan for about 3 months back in 1999, and did so well, I began rewarding myself, and never recovered. I am considering the plan again, because I am getting to the point where I loathe overeating and sugar bingeing. I am currently 273 lbs, and should be 210 to 220. I feel that the body has an internal mechanism telling you what to eat and how much. I would like to retrain myself to eat better portions, and stay off the sugar. Anyways I know probably everyone here is female, so I hope your all ok with me. I know I need a support group because I can never stay on the plan long by myself, and I have no significant other. I will be around and when I do make the commitment, I will let you all know.

Secondly, I am happy to report that we have a good amount of men here, and I'm sure they will be more than happy to help support your efforts. There are also some articles for men in the old CarbHealth Magazine archives in the Articles section. I will post some more in the coming week, since it does feel like a predominantly female site and I don't want to alienate you guys!

hello keith, i would like to be a part of your support group and i just want to say that the most important part of any diet program aside from anything else is self-determination as well as self-control with this two qualities in mind i'm sure you'll be able to achieve your goal in no time.

Welcome Keith........this entire group is your support group. We're here whenever you need us.
Husband and I have portion control problems also. I reached the point that I have given up the convenience of making enough food to have for leftovers later in the week and cook just enough for the meal that night. It's a little more difficult but less tempting to overeat.
