I'm planning a large-scale redesign of the site again. This time my design will be based on user feedback. Please reply to this post and let me know what you were looking for when you found CarbHealth.com, what you hoped to find here, and what you do or don't like. Please be brutally honest!

Here are a few pointed questions:

1. Do you use the Low Carb Retailer Directory?
2. Do you like to read success stories?
3. Do you find the Tools section helpful?
4. Do you wish there were more frequent recipe additions?
5. Do you read the articles?
6. Did the newbies/basics section help you at all?
7. Do you have interest in tradeshows, industry press releases, and other industry information?
8. Have you ever made a purchase through this site's shopping area? Are there any other products you'd like to see for sale here?
9. Do you think the Low Carb Book Club was a good idea? Should we continue it? (As you know, it's been a while.)
10. Has the Product Price Comparison been helpful in making shopping decisions?
11. Are there any additional forums you'd like added?

Most importantly, I need feedback on the navigation area of the site. Is the long menu on the left a problem? Would you rather see tabs at the top of the page or something else? Do you like having a description under each link so you know what to expect? Or is it a waste of space?

Also - any preference in color scheme? I think I'm tiring of the oranges and reds. Would you like a feature built in to change the color scheme based on your individual preference?

THANKS for your feedback! I want this site to be layed out in such a way that it's easier for you and a more pleasurable experience. Any suggestions are welcome!

You just knew I'd be the first one to respond, didn't you Tiffany!
There are a whole bunch of sections on the site that I haven't even made it to yet. Everytime I come to the site I try to check out something new. Since you say the most important information you are looking for is regarding the nav menu, I'll start there. I like the headings (content, features, other, etc) and the font they are in. I personally find that there are too many links.......for instance, under the link for Low Carb Articles you put "Stories and news about low-carbing". Then there are links right there for Current News, Diabetes, etc.....drop the links so you just have the one link "Low Carb Articles" and the description. Let the addititonal links come on the next page. It would make the nav bar a bit shorter, maybe fit on one screen.

I check the retailer section once in a while but all of the NY places are too far for me. And I don't bother with the Price Comparisions. I pretty much avoid the premade low-card items. Besides, most of the stuff they sell for low carb has the "bad stuff" in it (enriched flour, maltitol....). I've even gone off the deep end and started making my own tortillas! I do like reading the posts to see what other people are doing and of course to lend a helping hand to those who need help. (By the way, that one carb counter link from Jeff David under hints still takes you to www.rcn.com.) Newbies has been a lot of help seeing that others are going through what I'm going through. Haven't gotten to the Book Club yet but I'm working on it.

If you're referring to being able to do the colors on the page the way I want them to look (like the way yahoo lets you set your own page) then yes. I prefer "cooler" colors, blues, greens, kind of "watery" if you know what I mean. I find them more relaxing.

I do have a request.....on several occasions I've done a search. When the search is finished and I click on one of the items that came up it takes me to a separate page. Is there a way to have a "Return to Search Results" button added?

The site is a great help Tiffany. I used to visit about four or five different LC sites. I find I always come back to this one. It has more information than the others and it is always easy to find what I'm looking for.

Hope this helps.

1. Do you use the Low Carb Retailer Directory?
NO..never have

2. Do you like to read success stories?
Yes I find them very inspiring!

3. Do you find the Tools section helpful?
YES

4. Do you wish there were more frequent recipe additions?
YES, recipes and being prepared is the key to success.

5. Do you read the articles?
Sometimes...will be catching up on them..since I have not been around due to my computer blowing up.

6. Did the newbies/basics section help you at all?
It did not for me..as when I found this site..I was not a Newbie..but I am willing to help New people as much as possible.

7. Do you have interest in tradeshows, industry press releases, and other industry information?
No ..not at all

8. Have you ever made a purchase through this site's shopping area?
NO

Are there any other products you'd like to see for sale here?
Not particularly..I dont usually buy LC products.

9. Do you think the Low Carb Book Club was a good idea? Should we continue it? (As you know, it's been a while.)
I am not sure what this is

11. Are there any additional forums you'd like added?
I think there is ample amount of forums here..and alot of help from others.

Most importantly, I need feedback on the navigation area of the site. Is the long menu on the left a problem? Would you rather see tabs at the top of the page or something else? Do you like having a description under each link so you know what to expect? Or is it a waste of space?

I think it would be a waste of space..descriptions are not needed at least on my part. I like the way you have this site displayed..very informative.

Also - any preference in color scheme? I think I'm tiring of the oranges and reds. Would you like a feature built in to change the color scheme based on your individual preference?

Well...my favorite color is Cobolt Blue LOL.
