Basic LC soup

This is just a throw together recipe..anything in the fridge sort of deal LOL. Something like a chilli

Lean ground hamburger
Green and Yellow beans
Diced celery
Diced onion
Diced green pepper (or any sort of peppers)
Other veggies..(cauliflower, brocolli)
Canned tomatoes
WATER

Brown the ground beef..then add onions, celery, and peppers....brown a little bit longer..then add water (to your preference) and any spices you would like. I add these to the browned hamburger while frying also. Add the other ingredients..and simmer for a few hours.

You can also add tomato juice..but alas it ups the carb count considerably. But a little bit will give it some flavor.

I make batches of this..thick for chilli like..and watered down for soup like.

I freeze this in individual batches for a quick heat up in the microwave. GREAT MEAL

Great for the winter weather, or to have on hand in case the flu hits.

Like I said..this is basic..you can add what you like to this..as long as it is LC friendly and on your LC list of foods.

I have also added turnips.

Remember...watered down like soup..cuts down the carb amount...and still fills you up.

You can top it with cheese (chilli style) and bake it in the oven to.

Or top with cheese in your bowl of soup..mmmm good.

Dont forget to spice it up...we like it VERY spicy..hot peppers...and hot sauce added to the bowl [Eek!]
