No foolin! My husband and I started Atkins on 4/20/03. My stats 122/120/119 [3 meager lbs]. My husband's 193/185/173 [20 lbs] I do all the cooking [for both of us]. I adhere diligently [he doesn't]. I'm thinking of going back to induction. He's already up to 35 carbs. Am I missing something. I've read the book from cover to cover 3x's, hoping for hidden meaning and inspiration. I am not very happy! Can anyone help? Does anyone even care? Exasperated. Ladylaine

ladylaine, Are you on any medications? Hormones? the pill? These can slow down your weight loss. Even something as simple as chewing gum if it is not sugarless. Are you getting extra exercise? Drinking enough water? Eating your 3 cups of vegetables? In the Atkins book there is a whole chapter on what to do if you are not losing. Paige Posts: 3 | From: New Hampshire | Registered: Jun 2003

Paige, Yes, to all your ?'s. I've read that chapter sev times. I think being on anti-depressants and having thyroid problems are the most obvious reasons. I know I just have to be more patient. Sometimes I guess we just want some sympathy. I'm still being diligent and will continue to do so. My husband has been supportive. I just wanted some outside input. He hit his goal weight today!!!!! I'm still @ a 3 lb loss, but have a better attitude! Laine

Hang in there, ladylaine! Have patience and keep going. I have found that I don't need to weigh myself very often because it seems to discourage me. If I only weigh every 2-3 weeks, I am usually glad to notice an extra 2-4 pounds gone. Our weight fluctuates from day to day, so that can be discouraging if you have been adhering to a strict low carb diet. Try sticking to it and weighing less often. Just a suggestion that works for me.
