Hi:

Just passing on a link for a company that is introducing (as of May 1st), a new low-carb food line in Canada.

I can't say I've seen any of their products..perhaps it is time to talk to some grocery store managers.

http://www.carboptions.ca/en/product.htm

Finally we are being rescued from the land of "lettuce leaves and plain meats"!

I just noticed that our pharmacy now carries some Atkins items. (Wonders will never cease!)

Regards

I do use some of the carboptions stuff..I like to have thier ketchup handy.

The BBQ sauce is ok, but watch as there is sugar listed in the ingredients..NOT a good thing.

Thier Garden sauce and Alfredo sauce is very good. Although I dont ever use LC products much.

Carb Options has been here in the states for a while......I find the BBQ sauce is flavorful enough that I use much less than the serving size listed. It is nice to have a ketchup again...never used it often but on a meatlof it's a must have. The whipped salad dressing (similiar to Miracle Whip) is very good. I don't bother with the sauces though. For the difference in prices between the low carb and the regular, it's not worth it. Alfredo is just too easy for me to make from scratch and I tend to make a big pot of basic tomato sauce and freeze it.

Noxzema, I see a maltitol listed on a lot of products. Do you know if it's the same as malitol?

I dont think it is exactly the same..but alas it is a sugar alcohol..so it will have the same effects..stalling, and tummy distress.

It is best to stay clear of sugar alcohols
