There is a new great-tasting low carb bread that has 4 net carbs per slice. It is delicious. One of my friends who works in a health foods store sells Alvarado street bakery breads, Food for life breads (Ezekiel 4:9), and French Country Meadow. All of those breads have higher fiber content and whole grains (usually sprouted) and minimal flour and sweeteners. Some are rougher and drier than others. The newest entry into the low-carb field is LifeStyle Bread and is available here http://www.lifestylebread.com They deliver right to your home. It's very nice, has a taste and texture like roman meal, if a little chewier, and a decent sized slice. You will have to order it online and you need to be able to store 6 loaves at a minimum. She has been selling a lot of this bread in the store, because one co-worker and her love it. I do too!!!

I get this bread at Trader Joes. They also have some great rolls --O So Lo brand that are 3 net carbs each. And they have a low carb pasta that blows away any of the other brands I've tried and I have tried most of them. The pasta is Bella Vita and it's a bit higher in carbs than some of the LC pastas 18g - 10 fiber for a net of 10g but that's for 3/4 cup dry. an added plus is that it's only $2.20 per box.(btw- if you don't have a Trader Joes in your area Bella vita has a web site where you can make purchases.)
