Hi. I am new to this plan. Have only been on it since Monday. Can someone give me some snack ideas? Has anyone been successful in losing weight on this plan?

Hi, Firmfaith:
In what way are you 'on this plan'? The books and cookbooks have all kinds of recipes. If you wind up needing to eat outside of the three planned meals, some Carbohydrate Addicts prepare what they call 'protein bullets'- things like meatballs made with no carbs, or a can of tuna, (I have used a tin of sardines)or a boiled egg. I also like the Hellers' recipe for a flavourful cheese filling for celery. You want to avoid anything carb except at your daily 'Reward' meal.

You asked about weight loss- yes, I have lost weight. I started on the plan for better health and to get rid of my craving/binging. For me, the weight loss is not the goal, it is one indicator of better health. I lost about 15-18 pounds. Then I hit a stressful time, went off the plan and to back into carb binging. I also triggered a massive heart problem- atrial fibrillation episode put me in hospital.(Still not resolved) I have been back on plan for two weeks now, and have started to feel somewhat better. For now I have to deal with some medications and a few issues that I beleive are related to nutritional depletions.
I am re-reading The Carbohydrate Addict's Healthy Heart Program, and re-affirming my absolute need for this program.
