Hello, I'm new here... and very confused. I was diagnosed w/ PCOS YEARS ago - have the weight, the facial hair, the lack of periods, and the lack of ovulation. I've been on medication for the past 2 years attempting to conceive.
I've been told that a low-carb diet could be beneficial (due to insulin and such). But how to I chose? Atkins? South Beach? Zone? UGH!!!!!!!!!!
I know that everyone probably has their favorite, but I'm looking for which might be the most effective with PCOS.
Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Pam

I used to do Atkins, but when I was diagnosed with Endometriosis, I was told that the high-fat in Atkins was raising my estrogen levels, which in turn fed my endo growth RAPIDLY.
I am now on South Beach because it is low-carb but also low-sat-fat.
I'm not sure if estrogen has anything to do with PCOS, but if it does, I'd recommend avoiding fats and try South Beach. I'm finding the SBD easier than Atkins, and it just "feels more healthy" for the long haul.
Hope this helps.
