I'm new to the board, although not to low carb. However, I've never really done it right. I only went by what I saw in the media, lose a few pounds, go back to 'normal', gain it back, etc. Over and over. My knee doc told me to lose 40 lbs. I'd really like to lose 50, but I don't know if I can. I know I eat for stress and other emotional reasons. I want to do it right this time.
Is there a real difference between Atkins and protien power? Doesn't really seem like it to me.

I am also new to this board..I was searching the web for lowcarb sites and came across this. I joined the lowcarbing because of diabetes. I don,t so much need to lose weight. If i am good it does wonders for my blood sugar. I can,t go too low so I do eat fruit, other than that everything is low carb. which diet are you on.

I am new to the board, too. Been on Atkins for about a year and lost almost 70 pounds. Goal is at least 50 more pounds. Pretty worried about the extra skin issue. I sometimes can't believe that I have done this to myself for so long. Oh well, I help others to benefit from the Atkins life style. Motivate my friends, my husband owns a restaurant so I launched a complete menu and was very well received by the public. Came up with some yummy desserts, too. Well, now that I have rambled on....just wanted to introduce myself. Keep on low carbing!!!! Good Luck to all

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I normally am on the discovery health forum but thought I would see if there was a low carb dieters talk forum and I found this one. I will introduce myself: I am following the low fat version of Atkins. I have been on it since Jan.1. This was my new years resolution to lose weight. I am still going strong! I was 209 and now I have lost 52 pounds and am down to 157 pounds. My goal is to be at 130 pounds. I wanted to be able to talk w/some low carb eaters cuz some of the people in the discovery health forum are negative about it. I get a little frustrated sometimes but know everyone has a right to thier own opinion. I would like to feel and have more people to communicate w/that is low carb eating as I do. I can share alot of my trials and some great weight loss tips that are helping me. And thought if there is anyone who would like to hear my tips and some of you can maybe give some of your best tips that would be great. Till next time, Cheryl
