Thanks, Tiffany, for the great website! I just stumbled upon it this a.m. and posted my first question in the lo-carb forum.
Just wondered where I can find into on the book you mention below?
Thanks.

My friend Caroline in Canada experienced a drastic reduction as well, and as some of you may remember, we posted a book about it here on the site.
Anyone else finding relief from their Fibro through low-carbing?

We used to charge $5.00 for online access, but since there were very few people interested, we discontinued.
I will post the "secret" URL and info here, and if anyone ever feels like giving a donation in return for the access, just let me know. We worked hard on it.. it's a shame it didn't take off like we had hoped. But there's a lot of info for both Fibro sufferers, and those curious as to what Fibro is.

Hello Everyone, I have never used a message board before so if I do something inappropiate I am trusting in more knowledgable folks to clue me in. I started low carb dieting a couple of weeks ago. I had spent almost 2 years lost in a dense fibro-fog and feeling horrid. I have had fibro 17 years, or at least it was 17 years ago I was diagnosed. I had been in the midst of a two year flare up, lots of pain, fatigue, NO memory retention, the whole ball of wax. Almost immediately after I began eating this way I found several wonderful and exciting things happening. I lost 12 pounds almost immediately, then I realized my gut wasn't bloating and hurting, I wasn't retaining water, and my pain is practically gone. My memory is returning, I have tons of energy. This is the most wonderful discovery for me. My husband is so glad I am feeling more like 'myself'. Even if I never loose another ounce I will stick with this diet just for the fibro, chronic pain, mental blahs relief I have found eating low carb meals. I thought I would miss things like bread and candy, but the times I have cheated, yes, I have cheated a bit here and there, I found that I did't much enjoy eating the 'cheating' things. I haven't a clue why this diet has been such a big help in controling my pain and fatigue because for me the important thing is how incredibly much I feel like a human being again. I am seeing my doc in Aug. and will tell him then what I am doing. I expect he will not be to pleased, being a hugely conservative sort of fellow, but he will have to live with it, I sure intend to!! I am happy to have found this site and am sure I will enjoy what everyone has to say. Robin

And congrats on finding Fibro Relief! I think it has a lot to do with insulin. Though no doctors have concluded it, my theory is that Fibro is a sensitivity to insulin. Many people who suffer from this illness find DRASTIC relief by low-carbing. It also helps your muscles and tissues to have the higher protein intake.
So glad you shared your success here. It's always good to know that people are "feeling better" rather than just simply "looking better."

My daughter has RA and Fibromyalgia. We recently decided to try low carb because we had read that it has helpd some people, but she is not overweight and we are not sure how many carbs she would need to eat to experience the change in pain and fatigue, but not loose weight. Can anyone help us, please?

I have ordered the ebook mentioned above. My account was definitely charged the $5.00, which would be great but two weeks later, and still no ebook and no response to several emails. Cany anyone tell me what the problem is. I was thrilled to find info on this connection between lowcarbing and fibromyalgia, but am not so thrilled about being out the money for nothing. I would just like the ebook or an explanation. Thanks.

Just a thought about fibromyalgia... seeing as how we seem to find relief when we low-carb, perhaps -- not only is it possible that Fibro is an insulin problem, but perhaps it could just be a yeast overgrowth problem?? Yeast overgwrowth (Candida) presents many of the same symptoms as Fibro.
